Man, Luger's career has turned into the second half of Boogie Nights or something, with Bagwell as Reed Rothchild and Scott Steiner as Todd. Talk about someone who had everything and then pissed it away. You have to wonder -- if he actually cared about the business and hadn't been so eager to screw over Vince in the name of making a buck back in 1995, would he be in the position he's in now, or would the WWE have forgiven him a million times and tried to get him some help? I have to think it'd be the latter.

That doesn't sound like Boogie Nights to me.

I was always under the impression that Luger was all natural (at least during the "prime" of his career).

Subject: why TNA rocks!!!
I like last night's TNA show. Pretty damn entertainming.
There are two things why TNA rules:
on last night show during the Bobby Roode / Christian match I was honestly expecting Monty Brown run in to cost Christain the match which would've piss me off but TNA really surprise me with the booking of the match by having Monty miss Cage and pounce fat boy D'amore. Cage then grabs monty and throws him out the ring followed by an unprettier on Rood. That was good.

I was DREADING the Sabu / Abyss verbal confrontation. Again, I was ready to criticize TNA for ending the show with Sabu / Abyss when they already had their brawl on the last episode. I was expecting a boring brawl but the lights went out for a couple of seconds...and BAM!!!! The ropes disappear and the ring is now covered in barbed wire!!! Look really good in one shot!!!

I Love TNA!!!!!

I can imagine him digging up Yokozuna, dragging his corpse over to the U.S.S. Intrepid (while wearing patriotic print Zubaz), and trying to bodyslam the thing to get his life back.

Subject: Somewhat related ...
Earlier this week, TNA announced a "major event" for Sunday's Turning Point PPV. It was later changed to "the face of TNA Wrestling changes forever in 2006." GERWECK.NET has learned that the "face" TNA is referring to is former WCW heavyweight Sting, who last wrestled for TNA in March 2004. It is believed Sting has accepted a contract that could earn him up to $500,000 on a year contract.

Damn. I'm a TNA fan and a HUGE Sting mark, but this is dumb. He has nothing to prove in TNA. I wanted to see him make a few WWE appearances for dream matches against Rock and Michaels. TNA just doesn't suit him, and it likely means even MORE reshuffling at the top of the card in TNA.

The only change to the face of wrestling is it'll now be painted.

Remember when Lex did a tour with other athletes including Michael Jordan, and was featured in Sports Illustrated? My how the mighty have fallen. You'd think he'd do something real with his life like Rick Steiner.

Also, dibs on Luger for the 2006 death pool.

Well, this seems like a good enough time to post this:

Done last year. Note the numerous blown lines... and the obvious blowing of lines prior to the promo.

Subject: Luger the jailbird again
Hello all! My first post- anyway...

So Marcus Bagwell's Chest Rockwell?!

In seriousness, I actually feel bad for Luger. I know that he has brought this all upon himself, but he falls into the same cataegory of so many wrestlers that've been addicted to the business, that it ruins their lives. It's so sad to see him go from being one of the biggest prospects in the 80's, superstar in the 90's, and now being marred in legal trouble. It reminds me of the turmoil Ric Flair is in. I hope in the future, wrestling promotions will try to (though nearly impossible) look out for the welfare of all of their workers, be it superstar or not, during and after their time with their respective companies.

In these days of seeing stars fall from grace, and untimely passing away, I beg to ask if a union would be a deterrent for these sort of things. Thanks.

Really? Is that what you beg to ask? What other grand new ideas do you have? Will you enlighten us? Perhaps Vince should give everyone an off-season, as well?

Subject: todd grisham is a loser
Caller 7: Asks if TNA will ever compete with WWE. Todd’s answer matches the basic concept of everything Rick’s been trying to tell you when he mentions the inherent problems of TNA, so I’ll just transcribe what Todd said, minus his incidental phrases (such as “I mean”)…

“Well, I’ve seen it. It’s good! In the ring, they’re great… But sometimes, wrestling just doesn’t get it done. You’ve gotta have the complete package. You’ve seen over the years, there’s been a lot of great guys who are fantastic wrestlers in the ring, but then you hand them a microphone, and they turn into Corky. So we’ll just have to wait and see. They have some good wrestlers, some former WWE athletes are over there, so um… I don’t know. But, they’re never going to be able to touch WWE anytime soon. Our ratings are huge, their ratings are miniscule, but it’s nice to have competition.”
-Todd Grisham on WWE Byte This!-

Give me a break. I did'nt even know grisham was still with the WWE. "Our ratings"??? What has he done to increase rating. Todd Grisham in nothing more than a Joey Styles lool-a-like who should be released because he offers nothing. But with WWE logic, Tajiri gets released!

The 95 thing or the watching Liz die thing, she was incredibly popular with a lot of people in the company, and Bret even gave her a nice tribute as well. Actually, that whole Bret tribute thing was the best part of the DVD.

they also cheered the hell out of Diesel when he was on his seven man elimination streak. A year later, he was the WWF Champion and nearly bankrupted the company as a result.

So you see? That crowd in Providence has A LOT to be sorry for.

So I just watched a DVD of old Florida stuff. Luger looked really bored, even then. I know he was the NWA's great white hope for quite a while, but was he ever motivated? I honestly can't remember a time when he didn't look like he'd really rather be somewhere else.

Incidentally, I'm selling most of my video collection, if anybody wants to take a look at what's there, check out

I'll be putting a couple more lots up on Sunday night, as well. If you want hours and hours of rasslin' for cheap, rock it.

Also on that DVD from Florida was the gayest workout segment ever. Imagine Ron Simmons doing a back bend with Hiro Matsuda sitting on his groin. Okay, don't.

I have Most Memorable Matches of 2000, Best of Bash at the Beach, Shawn Michaels Best Hits from the Heartbreak Kid and Diamond Dallas Page: Feel the Bang that I was considering selling as a bundle, if anyone's interested. Actually, I want to get rid of Office Space, The Breakfast Club and Dumb and Dumber too.
